Question

Solution

How do I connect the air and exhaust lines to the rocker?

Your unit was shipped with a black/clear twin hose. Push the hoses into the connectors located on the back panel. The clear hose is air supply. The black hose is exhaust. Connect the clear hose to a compressed air supply (30-90 psig). A 1/4NPT fitting is provided. Direct the black hose outside the incubator so that the exhaust is vented out.

DO NOT USE THE AIRPUMP20 TO POWER THE ROCKER. It is only designed to aerate the Cellbag and produces just 0.1 psig.

I am running the unit from a compressed air cylinder. It doesn't last very long. Why?

The air consumption of the rocker unit is 0.2 sfcm. A typical cylinder will only last a few days. Use house air or a small portable compressor.

What size or type incubator do I need?

The shelf size should be around 30"wide x 25" deep. Many customers use the Forma 3956 reach-in incubators. This unit has CO2 and humidity control. You can also purchase the optional HEATER20 or HEATER50 to convert a BASE20/50P for operation outside an incubator.

Can I use the SYSTEM20/50 for perfusion culture?

Yes. It uses the CELLBAG2L/P or CELLBAG20L/P or CELLBAG50L/P that have integral perfusion filters.
